COVID-19 Update from the President and General Manager of Gendon Polymer Services, Inc.
Dear Valued Partner:
Gendon Polymer Services thanks you for your continued support during this very challenging situation, and we want to provide you with an update on our response to the COVID-19 health emergency.
The Gendon Leadership Team is closely monitoring the status of the outbreak and its potentially adverse impact on supply chain integrity, and continuity in our business. Gendon Polymer Services remains fully operational. We are committed to meeting the requirements of our customers. Daily operations continue without any interruptions, and we are working with our suppliers to increase inventory levels of key ingredient materials imported from overseas.
The safety of our employees, communities, customers, and suppliers is our primary concern. We are following the guidance of global health experts at the World Health Organization (WHO), U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Public Health Agency of Canada (Agence de la santé publique) on preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
We are taking several measures to ensure that we safely manage this situation while continuing to conduct business effectively. We are rigorously cleaning and disinfecting our facility and equipment on a set schedule and our employees practice frequent hand washing. Most importantly, we are asking that our employees stay at home if they feel sick. Fortunately, our operations are set up such that the implementation of a 2-meter (6 ft) distance rule is very possible and has been implanted since early March.
Numerous provincial and state governments have ordered individuals to stay home or at their place of residence, except as needed to maintain continuity of operations of the critical manufacturing sectors. At Gendon, we are taking the following additional preventative measures:
- Our locations are complying with all governmental requirements covering manufacturing facilities and offices.
- Wherever possible, all non-manufacturing personnel are working from home.
- We are practicing “social distancing” at our facilities and encouraging our employees to practice it in their communities to help slow the spread of this virus.
- We are holding all internal and external meetings via Zoom, GoToMeeting and conference call.
- We have implemented site entry restrictions and have staggered staffing schedules to prevent the potential spread of the disease into our facilities.
- We have implemented an international and domestic travel ban within our company.
These actions, coupled with enhanced personal hygiene techniques (e.g., hand washing, alcohol rubs, masks in the operations area) has allowed our work force to remain safe and maintain operations at regular levels.
Gendon is committed to remaining proactive and transparent during this crisis. We will do everything possible to anticipate future challenges that may affect the supply chain. We are receiving regular status reports from our suppliers and are continuing to monitor the situation. If there are any indications that our supply chain has been impacted, we will immediately inform our customers.
These are very difficult and uncertain times for everyone, but Gendon remains focused on providing a safe work environment for all our employees. Additionally, we are committed to helping our global community meet the needs of customers that support the critical manufacturing sectors as designated by the U.S. government and the Canadian government.
We hope that you and your families are staying healthy, and we look forward to better times for our continued work together. Please contact us directly if you have specific questions not addressed above.
Thank you for your continued support of Gendon.
